Q: Can I make changes after submitting my abstract?

A: Changes to an abstract can only be made while it's in draft form and has not yet been submitted. Once the abstract has been submitted, no alterations are permitted. Please ensure that you review your text carefully before submitting it.

Q: Can I submit an abstract and present it virtually – is this possible?

A: The physical presence of presenters is required. Unfortunately, there is no option for an online presentation.

Q: How do I register for the Conference?
A: To register for the Conference, please check the registration page.

Q: How can I pay the registration fees?
A: Payment of registration fees can be made by credit card or bank transfer. For full details, please visit the registration page.

Q: Can I register before the early fee deadline and pay later?
A: To benefit from the early fee registration discount, payment must be received before the deadline (i.e, before 30th May 2026).

Q: Can I register onsite?
A: On-site registration is available during the Conference days. On-site fees will apply.

Q: Is there an option to register as a group?

A: Group registrations are not allowed on the commission.

Q: Will I receive a confirmation letter after I have finished registering?
A: A detailed booking confirmation letter will be sent to you by email as soon as your registration is completed.

Q: Can I receive an invoice/ receipt under the University/ Institute/ Company's name?
A: During the registration process, you are required to insert Billing Details. This information will appear on the invoice/ receipt you will receive by email within one month after your payment is complete.
In case of any change of the information requested after the issuance of the invoice/ receipt, there will be a handling fee of €20 for the re-issuance of the invoice/ receipt. 

Q: Is the accommodation fee included in the registration fee?

A: The registration fee only covers participation in the conference. The accommodation fee must be paid separately. For detailed information and accommodation options, please visit the accommodation page.

Q: How can I find out information about hotels close to the Venue?

A: For information regarding hotels close to the Conference Venue, please check the accommodation page. 

Q: How can I book a room? Will I receive a hotel booking confirmation?

A: You can book a room during your registration process. To book a hotel, please send a e-mail to info@esc2026.org 

A detailed booking confirmation letter will be sent to you by email as soon as your registration/ booking is completed.

Q: Can I book rooms for a group?

A: Unfortunately, group accommodation cannot be arranged

Q: Can I cancel my hotel booking?

A: Written notification, sent to info@esc2026.org, is required for any cancellation or change to your Accommodation. Refunds will be made as follows (according to the postmark on the notice of cancellation):

• Up to and including July 8th, 2026: full refund less €50 administration fee

• From July 9th, 2026, and onwards: No refund will be granted.

All refunds will be processed within two (2) months after the end of the Assembly. Bank charges will be deducted.

Q: Where is the Conference taking place?

A: The 40th General Assembly (GA) of the European Seismological Commission will take place at the Hilton İstanbul Bomonti Hotel & Conference Center, in Istanbul, Türkiye.
